Eufy is owned by Anker, has become an established brand in the world of low-cost robot vacuums. However, it didn't offer the option of a model that could mop. The X8 Hybrid is a new model that has a wide range of features that are advanced and is able to compete with more expensive models.

Eufy's main selling point with the X8 is its laser navigation. Previous Eufy devices have created an outline of your home utilizing infrared sensors and bumping into things, but the X8's laser mapping system is far more precise. It takes less time to build a comprehensive map of your home. It also has the ability to store multiple maps. This is perfect for multi-floored homes.

The X8 is a great vacuum cleaner on bare floors. It is able to easily throw debris under the side brushes and into its 400ml dustbin. Its tyres are also very adept at securing edges and corners even though they're circular. It's crucial for a robot to be able to do the job and that's why our ZDNet staff has tested and reviewed some of the most popular models to help you choose the best one for your home.

4. Shark ION

This budget robovac that looks like any other, but comes with some extra features and is more efficient. Its smart mapping system creates 3D and 2-D maps of your house and makes use of them to navigate around and avoid obstacles. One thing we really like about the 980 is the fact that it utilizes its iAdapt 2.0 navigation sensors and visual simultaneous mapping and localisation technology (or vSLAM) to memorise the floor plan of your home. It uses this information to create a consistent and efficient cleaning path through each cycle. The result is cleaner floors and a better robot vacuum than most high-end robots.

Other features of the 980 include dual multi-surface brushes that grab dirt on floors and carpets and an ejector brush that spins to Sweep and mop robot debris into the robotic vacuum's bin. The floor tracking sensor helps it navigate between furniture, along edges and up the stairs. Cliff Detect prevents the Roomba from falling. It will also return to the base station to allow for recharges between sessions. While the 980's battery life and bin size aren't quite as good as those of other robot vacuums it's a reliable and solid machine that can keep your floors spotless for hours on end.
